EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MICRONEEDLING

Get 300% more from your skincare products!! Designed to enhance luminosity and revitalise the skin. We have developed FACE and BODY home Microneedling devices for those seeking all kinds of wonderful.
All our microneedling devices are durable, high quality precision tools. These advanced devices boast very thin disk-needles to amplify the delivery of active ingredients by creating micropuntures in the outer skin layer, allowing for transdermal absorption of solutions.
Our Microneedling device is safe and easy to use. Our FACE device is adorned with 540 ultra fine medical grade titanium needles and our BODY device, 1200 ultra fine medical grade titanium needles.  This performance enhancing skin treatment is not painful and helps to facilitate the natural exfoliation of the skin while boosting collagen and elastin. The skin’s overall appearance will appear refined, rejuvenated and renewed. We want you to achieve beautiful skin for life.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses a handheld device with hundreds of medical grade, ultra fine, sharp, titanium needles designed to roll across your skin to create microscopic punctures. Clinically referred to as ‘collagen induction therapy’ or 'CIT', and often referred to as 'dermarolling', is a treatment designed to invoke the healing response in your skin by causing micro-trauma in a carefully controlled manner. Performing the treatment on yourself is simple, painless and the results rather fabulous.
The main aim of creating thousands of tiny punctures in your skin is to amplify the absorption of your topically applied skincare products and boost the production of collagen and elastin. It is a refining, rejuvenating and renewing skin treatment that you can do at home or in a clinic. In clinic treatments use much longer needles of 1.5mm to 2mm. Research has shown absorption can be up to 300% more than without Microneedling. Microneedling two to three times every week may be one of the quickest and easiest ways to achieve flawlessly illuminated skin.

Technique?

Always roll on freshly cleansed skin and ensure you sanitise your microneedling device after every treatment to avoid bacteria build-up. Infection spreads so do not use on breakouts or inflamed skin.
Microneedle your skin at night as you can expect your skin to be slightly flushed for at least 15 minutes after you’ve rolled. This will flood collagen and elastin to the treated area. Follow with immersing the skin with sheer moisture in the form of Hyaluronic acid or your favourite bodycare cream for ultimate hydration.

Highlights?

Microneedling is a multipurpose treatment that helps with wrinkles, acne scars, sagging skin, uneven skin tone and more. When Microneedling, you’re making microscopic indentations in your skin’s collagen matrix along with creating “micro-channels,” which allow skincare products to penetrate deeper layers of the skin. This action triggers a natural healing response which produces an abundance of new collagen and elastin in these areas.

-Reduce fine lines and wrinkles

The micro-channels created, remind the skin to produce more collagen and elastin to kick start the healing process and plumping the skin from the sub-layers.

-Reduce hyperpigmentation and give you a more even skin tone

Any sort of skin problem (inflammation, pimples, eczema) and sun damage, can result in the skin changing colour leaving the skin looking blotchy, uneven, and ultimately older. Microneedling can successfully help reduce and improve skin tone.

-Exfoliate the skin

Exfoliation is important because removing dead skin cells makes your skin look fresh, smooth and illuminated.

-Allow for better absorption of your skin care products.

The micro-channels created during treatment enable serums and creams to be absorbed in a way that simply isn’t possible on untreated skin, in fact, research has shown it to be up to 300% more!

-Reduce scarring

Scarring is caused by a process known as fibrosis. This is a very good thing when healing larger wounds, because it makes everything stick together. However, beneath the skin the ‘glue’ is so strong that it can pull the skin down and create pock marks or scars. Not so good.
Microneedling helps to break down fibrosis underneath the skin which allows the skin to ‘let go’ and release the surface of the skin, reducing the appearance of the scar.

-Reduce the size of your pores

By encouraging the little blood vessels to supply blood, oxygen and nutrients straight into the dermis (the second layer of skin), the pores are ultimately tightened. Ironic, isn’t it? By making holes in your skin, you make the holes that are already there smaller…

When is the best time to use my OLIVIEREWILSON Microneedling roller?

We roll at night to allow our bodies time to do regenerative work. By Microneedling just before we sleep, collagen production in our skin is enhanced thanks to this natural regenerative cycle. Plus, skin can be flushed and sensitive post Microneedling, so this allows time to sleep it off.

What’s the best skincare to use alongside your Microneedling treatment?

Reach for Hyaluronic Acid serum to immerse the skin with sheer moisture, or use a mild retinol to boost hydration, reduce wrinkles, boost collagen, promote cellular turnover and even skin tone. This combination of Microneedling followed by a hydrating, renewing serum will help restore skin’s youthful bounce and glow. A Hyaluronic acid complex adapts with your internal moisture levels throughout the day, ensuring skin is ever-dewy.
Do not apply harsh AHA's (like Glycolic acid) after Microneedling. Reactive ingredients, especially exfoliating acids can be too harsh for the skin in this sensitive state and can cause irritations. Remember you’ve just caused micro-injuries across your face, so be gentle.

How long will does the Microneedling device last?

Similar to razor blades, over time the needles on your device will become blunt. Your device should last two to three months.

How often should you use the Microneedle Skin Roller?

Normally two to three times per week.

Which Microneedle size is best?

Start with our 0.3mm FACE Skin Roller then progress to the 0.5mm FACE Skin Roller when you feel more confident using these essential skincare tools. OLIVIEREWILSON have also created a device for the BODY with 0.75mm needles.

How do I clean my Microneedling device?

Before and after use, sanitise your device using the OWSkin Sanitising spray. This product has been Dermatologically tested and endorsed by Allergy UK. It is perfect for skin care devices. It is an anti bacterial spray, immediately killing 99.9% of bacteria. The solution is water based and alcohol free. There is no need to rinse residue.
Store the Microneedling device in the protective case provided and DO NOT SHARE your device. It's exclusively yours!

Can I Microneedle my lips and eyelids?

No. They are too sensitive. Roll above the lip to help soften Perioral lines.

Can I treat during pregnancy / breastfeeding?

We suggest you avoid Microneedling during pregnancy. There is so much change taking place in the body during pregnancy and there is a slight risk for hyperpigmentation if you introduce Microneedling. The strain on the skin, combined with high hormone levels can cause changes in pigmentation.  Apply hydrating serums and masks to keep your skin well hydrated.

Can I share my Microneedling device with others?

No!! This device is exclusively yours.

What is the difference between an OLIVIEREWILSON Microneedling device and a Dermaroller?

Our Microneedling device and Dermaroller are the same thing just different names. ‘Dermaroller’ is the name of a specific brand.

How much pressure should I apply when rolling?

Always start the treatment with a lighter pressure and let the skin get used to the treatment. Gradually increase the pressure to best suit your skin. Be more careful and adjust the pressure as you roll close to your eyes. The skin is thinner and more fragile on these areas.

How long should I treat each time?

The entire face should take approximately 2 mins.

Can side effects occur?

The skin may appear a little flushed afterwards which is an important part of the skin's healing process in renewing the skin. Apply Hyaluronic Acid serum after your Microneedling treatment which adapts with your internal moisture levels for ultimate hydration and ever-dewy skin.

Does the treatment hurt?

Home Microneedling tools generate a little sensation though are painless. The sensation is like an exfoliating scrub and the micro-channels created in the skin are imperceptible to the eye. Your skin may be a little pink afterwards so we advise doing this treatment at night time.

Can the needles damage the skin?

Poor quality needles can damage the skin. Our needles are ultra fine, medical grade, sterile and titanium, which we believe is the best quality. It is safe to treat your skin with our Microneedling device even if you have sensitive skin. Do not drag the roller across the skin, roll each section gently then move to the next section.

When to avoid Microneedling?

Our Microneedling treatments are safe and suitable for all skin types. However there are situations when you should avoid it. Hold off with Microneedling if you:
  • Have open wounds
  • Have visible infections
  • Suffer from skin disease or raised scars (Keloids)
  • Are pregnant or have recently given birth
  • Will be exposed to strong sun light during the next few days
  • Have active acne
