How To Microneedle - FACE
Microneedling the FACE will refine, rejuvenate and renew the complexion. The treatment creates an optimal environment for the body's natural process of repair and renewal. By penetrating the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) causing tiny injuries, this invokes a healing response in the body. These micro channels guide key nutrients to deeper level skin cells amplifying product absorption up to 3 times.
Microneedling supports the skin's ability to produce collagen and elastin, helps improve texture and tone, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, enlarged pores, scars and pigmentation, leaving a firmer, plumper, smoother complexion.
This treatment is designed to strengthen the skin barrier which helps it retain water effectively and maintain hydration. Microneedling will enhance luminosity, revitalise and unlock the rejuvenating power of skin.
If you are new to this treatment or have thinner skin, use the 0.3mm device. You can progress to the 0.5mm when your skin is familiar with the treatment or if you have thicker skin.
All you need to remember are three little words: CLEANSE. ROLL. HYDRATE.
STEP 1 – CLEANSE
Cleanse your face with your favourite cleanser and pat the skin dry. Best performed in the evenings before bed.
STEP 2 – ROLL
Microneedle your face, neck and décolletage with light pressure. Divide the face into sections: cheeks, forehead and mouth/nose area. Roll the device horizontally, vertically and diagonally over each section. Gently stretch the skin at the side of the nose to allow the roller to reach that area. To treat the whole face should take 2-3 mins. When changing direction, lift to reposition the roller (do not drag as this can scratch and irritate the skin). Avoid eyelids and lips as they are too delicate.
Skin will be a little flushed afterwards as Microneedling creates microscopic channels in the epidermis, boosting blood flow and circulation.
STEP 3 – HYDRATE
Be kind to your skin. Use hydrating, nurturing skincare and avoid aggressive ingredients that can cause inflammation, especially when your skin is feeling a little delicate after mirconeedling.
Drench your skin with Hyaluronic Acid (HA) serum, the moisture magnet! HA hydrates at the surface for an instant plumping effect and when combined with microneedling reaches the deeper skin layers where it replenishes moisture reservoirs, helping diminish lines and wrinkles. It promotes healing and a healthy functioning skin barrier, can be used daily and is suitable for all skin types.
After microneedling avoid products with fragrance and essential oils as they can irritate the skin. Also avoid harsh products such as, scrubs, AHA's (glycolic acid) and active ingredients such as Vit C, this can be applied the following morning.
Repeat the treatment twice a week. Replace the roller every three to four months or as soon as the micro-needles appear or feel dull or damaged.
